Family - Tradition - Hospitality
Hospitality practiced for almost 200 years.
A small estate has become a nationally renowned hotel just outside Munich – appreciated for Bavarian hospitality, cuisine with character, and a unique atmosphere.

How it all began
From the roots of a farm with agriculture, livestock, and a post office, laid in 1827, something special has grown over time. Each generation has added its own contribution – stone by stone, idea by idea, with passion and dedication. Thus, the once simple farm developed into a place to gather, enjoyment, and hospitality, known far beyond the local area. A piece of history that lives on – today, for our guests, and for future generations.

The hosts
For generations, the Stangl has been more than just a house—it's a part of the family. Bärbel Fauth-Stangl has shaped it for over 40 years with heart, style, and attention to detail. Her son Ludwig brings fresh ideas and a holistic perspective. Together, they manage the hotel with experience, sensitivity, and the joy of providing guests with a home away from home.

The Stangl and its homeland
Between rolling hills, old chestnut trees and the nearby splendor of the Bavarian capital lies the Stangl – has been a meeting place for centuries.
It is an inn and guesthouse, tradition and future, a place of retreat and a stage all at the same time.
For the region, the Stangl is more than just a hotel:
It is a piece of living history, a place where festivals are celebrated, stories are told, and memories are created.
A house that provides roots – and at the same time is a bridge between the peaceful countryside and the vibrant life of Munich.
Thanks to its proximity to the Munich Trade Fair Centre and Munich Airport, Stangl is both regionally rooted and internationally connected – a place where a sense of home and cosmopolitanism go hand in hand.
Our Philosophy
Rethinking tradition
Rooted in the past, looking to the future

We live Inn Culture – original, authentic, and forward-looking. We strive to preserve values that have always been essential: simplicity, honesty, hospitality. By focusing on the essentials, we create space for innovation – based on tradition, not in opposition to it.
In a world that's spinning ever faster, where travel has become more distant, streets more crowded, and clocks louder, something else entirely is gaining importance: taking a moment. Arriving. The feeling of being at home.
"At home" – this word carries so much meaning: warmth, familiarity, authenticity. "Hospitality" is not just a concept for us, but a lived attitude – honest, warm, and genuine.
Take a seat and enjoy the moment.
